Giovanni Piovan, professionally known as Lumier, works across contemporary sculpture, steel and sheet-metal artwork, surfaces, light and design. Cutting, welding, engraving, oxidation and Lumierografia transform metal into figurative artworks and innovative installations for private collections, architecture, public spaces and bespoke commissions. His practice also enters into dialogue with contemporary paintings and surface-based work while retaining a focus on material, movement and perception.
